Microsoft is getting ready to launch a new version of one of its most well-known games in addition to the release of Windows 10 tomorrow (see our early review).
If you already own the PC version of the game, you can download Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition without any costs. You just need to go through a few steps.

Step 1: Install Minecraft
Buy and install Minecraft for Windows 10 from the Windows Store.
Step 2: Install Code Connection
Once you have the game installed, you’ll need to download and install the Code Connection app. You get this from same download location as Minecraft: Education Edition.
The Windows installation package for the Code Connection app can be downloaded. Find the CodeConnection. msi file and double-click on it to start the installation.
Step 3: Create a Minecraft world
You’ll need a fresh world with cheats enabled.
Create a world
Press the Play button. Push the Create New button in the Worlds dialog. You can create your own world by clicking the Create New World button in the Create… window, which has some default templates to choose from.
Turn on cheats
You’ll see some settings for your new world. Leave everything as you see it except for Cheats. To activate all of MakeCode’s coding features, turn Activate Cheats to the ON position.
The world begins
Once you click Create, you can begin having fun in your new world.
Step 4: Start Code Connection
Open the Code Connection application by clicking on the desktop icon. Immediately, a window will appear asking you to connect to Minecraft by typing a slash command on the chat line. The command tells Minecraft to connect with a certain address. By simply clicking the copy button, the command will be copied to the clipboard.
Go to your Minecraft game now and enter the newly created world. Hit the “T” key to open the chat bar. Press Ctrl V to paste the slash command you just copied from Code Connection, then hit “enter” or the arrow key to continue.
A different window with a selection of editors will appear after you launch Code Connection. Hit “esc” to leave the game momentarily. Of course, navigate to the Code Connection window and select the MakeCode button. The MakeCode editor will load. To begin a new project, choose “New Project” in the “My Projects” gallery. Choose a tutorial or another example from the galleries if you’d prefer to try those instead.
Step 5: Gameplay with your code
After finishing your coding project, return to the game to run your code. Press Resume Game. Your code may execute as a chat command or begin when a game condition changes, depending on what it is intended to do. Try one of the tutorials and follow the steps.
