How to find a saddle in ‘Minecraft’
Finding a saddle can be done in four different ways: looting treasure chests, trading, fishing, and hunting.
Treasure chests
Saddles can be found in treasure chests in the following Minecraft locations: dungeons, bastion remnants, desert temples, End cities, jungle temples, Nether fortresses, strongholds, and villages.
Your chances of discovering a saddle inside a treasure chest will vary, but a Nether fortress chest is your best bet (35). 3 percent), a dungeon chest (28. 3 percent), or a desert temple chest (23. 5 percent).
You must first use an obsidian-made Nether Portal to enter the Nether in order to obtain a Nether fortress chest. Conversely, you can start (carefully) digging down until you find a cave system in the Overworld to find dungeon chests. Dungeons are always adjacent to caves.
Last but not least, desert biomes contain temples, and these temples’ chests will be contained inside a pyramid. Just be careful because there are TNT traps flanking the treasure chests that, if activated, will destroy the chests, their contents, and perhaps even you.
Fishing
Any body of water is suitable for fishing, and whenever you do, there’s a possibility that you’ll catch treasure rather than fish. However, by default, the likelihood of reeling in a saddle is less than 1%.
If you’re willing to put in some effort, enchanting your fishing rod with the “Luck of the Sea” blessing will improve your chances. You can speed up fishing by using a Tier 3 “Lure” enchantment, and soon you’ll be reeling in a saddle.
All you need is a fishing rod and water. Any body of water is acceptable as well, whether it is an ocean, a large river, a man-made pond, or just a standalone body of water.
Trade with a Master Leatherworker
If you’ve accumulated a lot of emeralds, you can exchange them for a saddle from your friendly local leatherworker. By placing a cauldron in their path, you can turn an unemployed villager into a leatherworker if there aren’t any available in the community.
Once the Leatherworker has earned the title of “Master,” you should be able to trade emeralds for a saddle.
The only catch is that there’s only a 50% chance they’ll offer you this trade if you’re playing the console-friendly “Bedrock” version of the game.
Kill a Ravager
Finally, you can kill a Ravager if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt. These formidable foes, which resemble bulls, will accompany pillagers on raids.
Upon death, a Ravager will always drop a saddle.
How to use your saddle in ‘Minecraft’
Once you have your saddle, youre ready to ride. But what animal should you pick?.
There are the obvious options, like horses, donkeys, and mules. Each of these creatures can be tamed by repeatedly mounting them until they stop bucking you off; the number of times depends on the animal in question. Once they’re domesticated, you’ll “use” the saddle on them by putting it on them.
By mounting the animal and selecting the inventory button, you can retrieve the saddle. You’ll notice that it has a separate inventory from which you can remove the saddle.
However, there are a few more entertaining choices, such as pigs and Striders.
Using your saddle to ride a pig
You can get a pigs attention with a carrot. Put the saddle in your hotbar after that, and “use” it on the pig.
Select the pig to start riding. You can make the pig run in any direction by hanging a carrot on a stick in front of it, but you won’t be able to move it without doing so.
While riding a pig is certainly entertaining, considering that Striders can traverse lava, you might find that it is even more useful.
Using your saddle to ride a Strider
A more recent mob in “Minecraft,” striders can be found roving the lava oceans of the Nether. You can safely cross the lava by riding a Strider.
Like the pig, you should first attract the Striders’ attention with a highly coveted dish: warped fungus.
When the Strider is within striking distance, equip the saddle in your hot bar and use it to equip the Strider. Then approach the Strider with your “use” action to mount.
To make a warped fungus on a stick that you can use to guide the Strider around, make sure you have a fishing rod available.
Don’t grow too attached to your pig or Strider, though, as killing them is the only way to get rid of the saddle you gave them.
