Step 1:
Placing your lever on the interior of your home will be the first action you should take. It is strongly advised that you position the lever close to the front door of your preferred structure so that you will have room and mobility to complete the remaining construction on the exterior of your home.
You must pay close attention to where you place your lever because you will need to know where it is for the next action.
Step 2:
After noting where you placed your lever, place a block directly beneath that location on the exterior of your home and connect it to a trail of Redstone dust.
Once the connection is complete, you will use blocks to construct a set of stairs that you will use to extend the Redstone dust trail all the way to your home’s roof. You will eventually reach said roof and proceed to the following step.
Step 3:
Next, create a 2×2 hole in the center of your home’s roof, which you will later fill with Redstone glass.
Make sure to extend your Redstone dust until it touches the glass once it is in place. It’s not necessary to cover all of your glass, but it doesn’t hurt to be thorough.
Step 4:
It’s now time to reap the rewards of all your hard work. Once you return to your home and turn on the light, your Redstone glass should function as your interior lighting.
A side note: When designing your home, keep in mind that the lighting they emit won’t be as effective if you have a door that lets light in.
What you’ve already done is a great example of how to make custom indoor lighting that isn’t just some generic light the different types of torches that you can make in-game. After all, creativity is at the heart of Minecraft, so what better way to demonstrate how far you have progressed in the game than by demonstrating your ability to cast light into the darkness?
