How to craft a blast furnace minecraft

The blast furnace is a crucial item in your inventory in Minecraft. Similar to a furnace, a blast furnace is used in the game to smelt items. A blast furnace can be found in a village in the armorer’s house, but it melts twice as quickly as a furnace.

Natural generation

Any armorer’s home can produce a blast furnace; these can be found in a village.

Blast furnaces can be pushed by pistons.‌[Bedrock Edition only]

Smelting Main article:

Similar to furnaces, blast furnaces can only smelt raw ore, ore blocks, and iron, gold, or chainmail tools and armor. Blast furnaces are the opposite of smokers, which are primarily used to cook food more quickly. One iron or gold nugget is produced by smelting each of the raw materials. The block state of an item changes to lit once it is placed in the blast furnace with fuel, and it melts twice as quickly as it would in a regular furnace. Additionally, fuel is used twice as quickly as in regular furnaces, maintaining the same amount of items melted per fuel. The product can then be collected by using the output. A hopper can be used to add materials to a blast furnace and remove materials from it, just like in regular furnaces.

Changing profession

Any nearby villager who hasn’t selected a job site block has the opportunity to change their profession to armorer if a village has a blast furnace that hasn’t been claimed by a villager.

Light source

When in use, blast furnaces emit light at a level of 13, just like regular furnaces.

Custom name

By default, a blast furnace’s GUI displays the name “Blast Furnace,” but you can change this by giving it a different name in an anvil before placing it or by using the /data command to modify the CustomName tag. ‌[Java Edition only].

A blast furnace can be “locked” in Java Edition by setting its Lock tag with the /data command. The player must be holding an item with the same name as the Lock tag text in order to open a blast furnace that has a Lock tag that is not blank. For instance, use /data merge block 0 64 0 Lock:”Blast Furnace Key” to lock a blast furnace at (0,64,0) so that it cannot be opened unless the player is holding an item named “Blast Furnace Key”.

Note Blocks

Note blocks can be placed underneath a blast furnace to create a “bass drum” sound.
