How to craft a Shield in Survival Mode
Open your crafting table so that you have the following 3×3 crafting grid:
Add Items to make a Shield
You should see a crafting area with a 3×3 crafting grid in the crafting menu. Put one iron ingot and six wood planks in the 3×3 crafting grid to create a shield.
You can use any type of wood plank when crafting, including oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, bamboo, crimson, or warped planks. In our example, we are using oak planks.
Making a shield requires placing the iron ingot and wood planks precisely in the manner shown below. There should be one wood plank in the first box, one iron ingot in the second box, and one wood plank in the third box in the first row. In the second row, there should be 3 wood planks. There should be one wood plank in the second box of the third row. This is the Minecraft crafting recipe for a shield.
The shield will now show up in the box to the right once you have correctly filled the crafting area with the pattern.
Move the Shield to Inventory
You must add the newly created shield to your inventory after you complete the crafting process.
You have successfully created a shield in Minecraft, so now personalize it with designs, stripes, and hues.
