One of the new items added to Minecraft with the Nether Update is the netherite ingot. Using it will allow you to upgrade your diamond-based tools, weapons, and armor. There is more than one way to craft netherite ingot.

The strongest material in the game has changed from Diamond to Netherite with the recent Nether update for Minecraft.
To find Netherite, you have to go into the Nether, as the name suggests. To get Netherite gear, you’ll have to find and smelt Ancient Debris. This will turn it into Netherite Scraps. You’ll then craft four Netherite Scraps with four Gold Ingots, which will give you Netherite Ingots. You can use these to upgrade your tools.
To find Ancient Debris, first you’ll need a Diamond Pickaxe. The Ancient Debris block won’t yield anything if you mine it with anything less. You must carefully mine in the Nether to find the blocks because they are only found there and are only found at levels 8 through 22. Bedrock players must enable the “show coordinates” option in the game settings in order to be able to see their current depth. Java players on PCs can toggle an interface that displays their location by pressing F3. Your Y-coordinate is the second of the three numbers listed, so you must aim for a value between 8 and 22.
You’ll want to take precautions to avoid falling into lava because the Nether has erratic drops and holes. Instead of creating a mine entrance that drops straight down, we suggest creating one that resembles a staircase.
Once you reach the appropriate levels, you should eventually be able to find Ancient Debris by simply mining in different directions. Similar to mining in Overworld, watch out for lava and make sure to keep track of your location to avoid getting lost. Even though ancient debris doesn’t appear frequently, if you keep looking, you’ll eventually find it.

How to get Netherite Ingot in Minecraft (Nether Update)
FAQ
What level does Netherite spawn?
You must first mine Ancient Debris, which is only found in the Nether, in order to obtain Netherite. You’ll need to mine until you’re Y levels 8–15 before you can enter the Nether. Most Ancient Debris will spawn at Y level 15.
How rare is a Netherite Ingot?
Players will be able to determine which resource in Minecraft is rarer using the analysis mentioned above. Players can conclude that Netherite is significantly more rare than diamond because we are comparing a 1 in 1200 chance for diamonds to a 1 in 25000 chance for ancient debris (and consequently Netherite).
How do I turn Ancient Debris into Netherite Ingot?
In a furnace or blast furnace, ancient debris can be melted into netherite scraps. Then, using a crafting table, combine four netherite scraps and four gold ingots of any shape to create a netherite ingot.
