Fences are important functional and decorative items in Minecraft. Use fences to contain your horses, sheep, pigs, or other animals or to decorate the area around your home where they are kept.
Each type of Minecraft wood, including Oak, Dark Oak, Spruce, Birch, Acacia, and Jungle, can be used to construct fences. You can also lay iron bars made from iron ingots on the ground, and they will connect like wood fence posts.
To create an enclosed space, fences will automatically connect with nearby fence pieces, gates, and other solid blocks.
In many of the biomes where their wood type is found, fences naturally spawn. Fences also spawn on shipwrecks and at woodland mansions.
In addition, numerous kinds of stone and brick in Minecraft can be fashioned into walls that serve the same practical or adorning purposes as a fence. See Stone Walls and Brick Walls. Sometimes, a stone fence is used to describe a stone wall.
Fences can also serve as fence posts where a horse or other animal on a lead leash can be tied.
Fences can also be joined to fence gates. By using the right mouse button or the use button on other editions, fence gates can be opened and closed. There is a corresponding Fence Gate for each type of Wood Fence, e. g. There are several types of fence gates, including oak, dark oak, spruce, jungle, and acacia. Iron gates are currently not available, despite being frequently requested.

FAQ
How do I build a fence?
In the crafting area of Minecraft, you must first place two sticks in the middle cells of the top and middle rows. Next, abut those wooden sticks with planks on either side, leaving the last row unoccupied. It is not required that the sticks and planks be made of the same type of wood.
