Like most games, Minecraft has a built-in feature that allows you to designate certain players as the server’s administrators. Mojang, the game developer, has chosen the term OP (operator).
You can assign OP players using the NodePanel, console commands, or even in-game commands (given by other players who have already been granted OP status).

- All of the levels you can set are displayed in the dropdown menu. Select the level you desire for the server operators, then click Save.
- Start the server.
Even after being opped, you may not have access to all of the commands. If you have opped yourself but do not have permissions such as /gamemode, it is likely that you have the wrong OP level set. You can change this by stopping the server, going to the “Server Settings” section of the configuration files, finding and changing the “Op Permission Level” to the level you want, saving your changes, and then restarting the server.
