Crafting in Minecraft is essential. If you don’t use Minecraft Recipes to craft the right tool for the job, you won’t accomplish much. Some items can be made without a table, while others need a workbench to make a particular kind of thing.

Java Edition
The cookbook can be seen in the inventory, crafting station, furnace, blast furnace, and smoker. The recipe book will then open to the left after the player enters the GUI and presses the knowledge book icon.
Recipes are stored in several different tabs:

The grid’s recipe is shown when you click on an item in the list. If the materials are available, the item can then be created; if not, the button containing the item is highlighted in red. If there are multiple patterns for a single crafting recipe, each click displays alternate patterns for that recipe (for instance, clicking on a crafting recipe for a banner displays every banner that could be made using various colored wools). Right-click on the item shows all the alternate patterns.
When you shift-click an item in the list, all of the materials are displayed in the crafting grid.
Toggle between “Show all” and “Show craftable” by pressing the button in the upper right corner of the recipe book; the latter only shows recipes for which the player has the required supplies in their inventory. A search bar is also located in the top-left corner to help you further refine the list.
Additionally, there are recipes for stonecutters and campfires, but neither of these have a recipe book interface.

Bedrock Edition
The recipe book can only be seen in the inventory and crafting table in Java Edition. The user must access the GUI and select the tab for the recipe book.

The crafting grid displays the recipe and all of the materials that are available when you click on an item in the list. The item is automatically created by right-clicking on it, and pressing Shift creates all items based on the number of materials the player has in their inventory.
The recipe book’s button in the upper right corner switches between “All” and “Craftable,” the latter of which only shows recipes for which the player has the required supplies in their inventory. A search bar is also located in the top-left corner to help you further refine the list.

The player can use a knowledge book to unlock new recipes if they meet certain requirements (such as gathering materials, being close to water, having a certain number of filled inventory slots, etc.).
The player will be informed that new recipes have been unlocked by a notification that appears in the top right corner of their screen once a recipe has been unlocked. They can then view the recipe and the materials needed to craft the recipe result by opening their inventory or by using a block (a crafting table, furnace, blast furnace, smoker, etc.).
The /recipe command can be used to give or take away recipes.
Crafting table recipes
