You might want to upload your single-player world for use online once you become a server owner. This tutorial will demonstrate how to upload, manage, backup, and restore your world using FTP.
This is intended for more seasoned users who are acquainted with FTP Access and server administration. For a more detailed explanation start with First Steps below.

Uploading Minecraft Worlds to a Server
Nothing compares to playing the map you’ve been working on on a multiplayer server. To do this, simply download your single-player worlds and upload them to your Minecraft server. This works for both Bedrock and Java edition servers.
This guide is split into two sections:
How to Upload a World to Your Bedrock Server
Any version will work with this, but after the 1 18 – 1. 19 updates. Once an older world is used with 1. 18-1. Due to the world generation, it cannot then be used for an older version again. So, make a backup of the original; however, since our guide only creates a copy of the single-player world, it is fine to use it.
- Once you’ve logged in to Minecraft Bedrock Edition, locate the world you want to use and select Edit.
- Find a location on your computer to export it to after clicking “export world” at the bottom of the page.
- Right click on the . Use 7-zip (or your preferred method of extraction) and select “Open Archive” to open the mcworld file.
- Now that they are all in one location, select these files and drag them into an empty folder on your computer.
- Stop your Bedrock server now, and use FileZilla to access your server.
- Double-click on Worlds on the right side (the server files), and then follow the same instructions to access your server world files.
- Now select the files you downloaded from your Minecraft world and move them from your computer’s left side to your server’s right side.
- Now choose to replace the older server files with the more recent ones on your computer.
- The world will now be uploaded to your Bedrock Minecraft server once you start it up.
How to Upload a World to Your Java Server

- Upon logging in, locate the world you want to upload and choose edit.
- Now select “Open world folder” to find the world files.
- On your computer, select every file and folder and move them to an empty folder.
- Open the world folder after logging in to your server files using FileZilla.
- To overwrite the server files on the right side, select all the matching folders and files on the left (your exported world). Move the following files: Data, Datapacks, Entities, Playerdata, Poi, Region, and Level. dat – Level. dat. old Ensure that you choose to replace the original server files.
- Your single-player world will be uploaded to your server and be ready to play once the files have been transferred.
Your single-player worlds can now be exported or uploaded to your server with ease. All of your older icon worlds can now be uploaded and shared with other online players!
