Where to find Amethyst Geodes in Minecraft
It’s best to simply descend into the earth and begin mining if you want to find an Amethyst Geode in Minecraft. However, you are not required to go far because amethyst geodes can spawn between Y levels -64 and Y levels 30. Due to their size and frequent cracks, geodes are also not that difficult to spot; therefore, you might be able to see the faint glowing light from a distance.
Keep an eye out for smooth basalt while mining. This is the dark outer layer of an Amethyst Geode. Calcite can be found by removing this first layer, and then look further to find the amethyst. Amethyst Blocks, Amethyst Buds, Amethyst Clusters, and Budding Amethyst are all contained within. Let’s go over which is which:
How to get Amethyst Shards in Minecraft from Amethyst Clusters
Compared to Amesthyst Shards, Minecraft Netherite is much more valuable but much harder to obtain.
Amethyst Clusters, which are developing amethyst crystals, release amethyst shards. These clusters can be found inside Amethyst Geodes. Mined amethyst clusters yield Minecraft Amethyst Shards, which can be used to craft a select few items.
Only mine the mature specimens; the smaller Minecraft Amethyst Buds won’t yield any Amethyst Shards. Before an amethyst bud transforms into an amethyst cluster, it goes through three stages of growth. Take a look at the picture above to distinguish them!.
When broken with any other tool, fully formed amethyst clusters drop two Minecraft amethyst shards, while pickaxe mining yields four. The Fortune enchantment can be used to further increase the amount of Amethyst Shards that drop. Use a pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment if you want to collect the cluster itself.
Minecraft Amethyst Clusters and Buds grow on Budding Amethyst blocks. You can recognize them by the cross-shape on their sides. Be aware that Budding Amethyst cannot be mined, but you can return to find newly spawned Amethyst Buds. Block of Amethyst, which is the name of the other solid amethyst block, can only be mined with a pickaxe. This block is purely decorative, and cannot grow Amethyst Buds. If you want to use amethyst as a building material in Minecraft, you can use amethyst shards to produce more amethyst blocks.
What you can craft with Minecraft Amethyst Shards
Amethyst Shards are a stylish new building material that can also be used to create the following things:
- Spyglass: A spyglass is created by stacking one amethyst shard on top of two copper ingots. Spyglasses can be used to close the distance on distant objects.
- Amethyst shards placed above, below, and on either side of a block of glass will produce two blocks of tinted glass. Tinted glass is a type of construction material that completely blocks light while allowing vision Although it can’t suffocate crowds, when broken it can still be used.
- Block of Amethyst: As mentioned before, this is purely decorative. Four Amethyst Shards can be used to create an Amethyst Block.
It’s time to find some amethyst shards and construct that opulent mansion!
