How to make portals in minecraft ps4

The Overworld, the Nether, and the End are the three “dimensions” available in the video game Minecraft. You’ll spend the majority of your time in the Overworld, which is where every game begins.

You must construct portals to access the other dimensions, or locate the pre-built portals strewn throughout the Overworld.

Build a Nether Portal: Mine obsidian blocks

Due to the complexity of this process, we have divided the instructions into four sections.

Obsidian blocks create the frame for your Nether Portal. A water bucket, a diamond pickaxe, and a puddle of scalding lava are required to obtain obsidian.

Step 1: Equip your water bucket and gather water.

Step 2: Locate a lava pool and douse it with water.

Step 3: After the lava has cooled, use the empty bucket to retrieve the water.

Step 4: Mine the resulting obsidian using a diamond pickaxe.

Build a Nether Portal: Create flint and steel

To light the obsidian frame and create the Nether Portal, you’ll need this. Here you need two types of ore: Iron and gravel. Just mine the gravel with anything, even your hand, until flint appears. To produce iron ingots, iron ore needs to be smelted in the furnace.

Step 1: Open your Furnace.

Step 2: Place iron ore into the top square.

Step 3: Add fuel to the bottom square, such as coal, wood, charcoal, or anything else that burns.

Step 4: Add the resulting iron ingot to your inventory by dragging it down.

Note that you can use more than one iron ore and one fuel in the furnace at once to produce multiple iron ingots in a single sitting by doing so as demonstrated above. The Furnace will keep smelting until all resources are used up or you decide to shut it down.

Now that you have flint and iron ingots, you can create the flint and steel tool.

Step 5: Open your Crafting Table.

Put one iron ingot into the top square of the left column in step 6

Step 7: Insert a flint into the middle column’s central square.

Move the flint and steel tool into your inventory in step 8

Build a Nether Portal: Create a fire charge (optional)

This method of lighting the obsidian frame is optional, but it calls for a substance found in the Nether. Here’s what you need, and here are the steps:

  • Placing one blaze rod into the square in the middle of the crafting table will produce blaze powder. A Blaze that protects a Nether Fortress drops a blaze rod.
  • Gunpowder — Obtained by killing a Creeper or opening chests.
  • Coal is extracted from coal ore, which can be found four to fifteen blocks below the surface.

Step 1: Open your Crafting Table.

Step 2: Put one gunpowder in the top row’s leftmost square.

Step 3: Put one blaze powder in the middle of the top row’s center square.

Step 4: Add one coal to the top row’s right square.

Step 5: Drop the three fire charges that were generated into your inventory.

Step 6: Repeat these steps as necessary.

Build your Nether Portal

The frame requires a total of 14 obsidian blocks. Once it’s built, ignite any obsidian block side facing inward.

Step 1: Place four obsidian blocks on the ground.

Step 2: Place four blocks of obsidian on top of the left block that is currently on the ground. This creates a column of five blocks.

Step 3: Place four obsidian blocks atop the currently lying right block. This creates a column of five blocks.

Step 4: Connect the two columns using two obsidian blocks.

Step 5: Drag your fire charge or flint and steel from your inventory to the Hotbar and choose it.

Step 6: Perform the following to ignite the portal:

  • PC — Right-click on any obsidian block’s interior surface.
  • Press the left trigger button on the console after choosing the inner side of any obsidian block.
  • Mobile: Tap any obsidian block’s interior side.

Step 7: Continue on to Minecraft’s shadow side.

Be careful how far you stray from the Nether Portal because one block in the Nether is equivalent to eight blocks in the Overworld.

Build an End Portal

The issue is that making an End Portal in Survival Mode is impossible. You can craft the portion of the Eye of Ender needed to construct the portal, but there is no other way to get the End Portal Frame blocks without switching to Creative Mode.

The only way to access an End Portal in Survival Mode is to invade an underground Stronghold. You can locate a Stronghold by loading Chunkbase in your web browser and entering your world seed number. This online app gives you the coordinates of each Stronghold.

Otherwise, there is no way to make a block called an End Portal Frame. They’re only available in the Creative Mode inventory. Technically, you could switch to Creative Mode for a short while, construct the portal, and then return to Survival Mode.

The two components you need to construct this portal are as follows:

  • 12 Eye of Ender
  • 12 End Portal Frame blocks

Build an End Portal: Create an Eye of Ender

You can craft this portion of the End Portal requirement if you don’t want Creative Mode to fully guide you. Here’s what you need, and here are the steps:

  • One Ender Pearl, which a fallen Enderman drops.
  • One blaze rod must be inserted into the square in the middle of the crafting table to create one blaze powder. The fallen Blaze that usually guards a Nether Fortress drops this item.

Step 1: Open your Crafting Menu.

Step 2: Insert one Ender Pearl into the middle row’s center square.

3. Insert one blaze powder into the appropriate square in the middle row.

Step 4: Add the resulting Eye of Ender to your inventory by dragging it there.

Step 5: Carry out these procedures once more to create 12 Eyes of Ender.

Build an End Portal: Build the Frame

Set 12 End Portal Frame blocks in a 25 x 25 square grid, three on each side, while standing or hovering in place. These blocks must be placed in a specific manner in order for the End Portal to ignite.

Step 1: Consider yourself standing on block zero. Place your first End Portal Frame block in the “two” spot after counting forward two block spaces as shown above. Along each side of the first block, place the second and third blocks.

The space indicated by the number 1 above should now exist between you and the End Portal Frame blocks.

Step 2: Repetition of Step 1 while turning 90 degrees in place without moving.

Step 3: Rotate in place 90 degrees without moving once more, then repeat Step 1.

Step 4: Lastly, place the final three blocks by turning 90 degrees in place while remaining still.

As seen above, we used red wool blocks to show the one-block distance between the player and the End Portal Frame blocks while placing a grass path block in the middle to show where we stood.

Note the arrows. For the portal to open, the End Portal Frame block engravings must be oriented toward the player. If not, the portal won’t activate.

The layout shown above is incorrect. Observe how the engravings point away from the frame rather than inward. Placement is crucial because these engravings have to face inward at all times.

Build an End Portal: Place the Eye of Ender

You must have the Eye of Ender equipped in order to open the portal. Depending on your device, choose one of the following actions when aiming at the End Portal Frame block:

  • PC gamer instructions: Right-click the End Portal Frame block.
  • Target the End Portal Frame block and press the left trigger button, according to the instructions for gaming consoles.
  • Gamer instructions: Tap the block marked “End Portal Frame”

The attempt below was unsuccessful because the End Portal Frame blocks were placed improperly. Unfortunately, if you don’t set the blocks up so that the engravings face inward, the portal won’t function.

Build an End Portal: Make another End Portal

If you notice a pitch-black space, you can proceed to the other side. You’ll automatically be transported to the End biome once you cross the void, letting you know that your portal was sturdy. You can choose to begin exploring the area or, if you’re feeling particularly daring, try fighting the Endragon again.

When you’ve had your fill of the End biome, you can easily build another portal. You’ve now successfully mastered this technique, so you can quickly create a new one. You’ll be taken to your spawn location in the Overworld dimension once you’ve built this new portal.

Unfortunately, once inside the Overworld region, using an End Portal to reach the End city is impossible. However, after preparing the Ender Pearls, it is possible to enter the End City or End Ship by using the End Gateway. When you succeed in doing so, you can build a second portal that will take you from End City back to your house.
